Anzac Day Toronto Avenue - Ploegsteert - 25/04/2012
At the occasion of Anzac Day (25/04/2012), a special ceremony took place at 16.00 h at the cemtery Toronto Avenue at Ploegsteert. Toronto Avenue Cemetery was named from one of the paths in Ploegsteert Wood, in which it is located. The cemetery contains the graves of officers and men of the 9th Brigade (3rd Australian Division) who died in the Battle of Messines between 7 and 10 June 1917. The cemetery contains 78 Australian First World War burials, two of them unidentified.
Naar aanleiding van Anzac Day (25/04/2012) vond op de begraafplaats Toronto Avenue om 16.00 uur een speciale herdenkingsplechtigheid plaats. De begraafplaats is gesitueerd in de bossen van Ploegsteert. Op de begraafplaats liggen 78 Australische soldaten begraven.
It rained a lot on this Anzac Day, but not during the ceremony ;-)
