Founders Day - Ploegsteert - 16/06/2013
Vandaag eerden leden van de Royal British Legion Scotland, Veldmaarschalk Douglas Haig, die in 1921 en in 1922 rond reisde in Schotland om veteranen aan te moedigen zich toe te voegen in een vereniging van eer. Deze vereniging werd de Royal Britsh Legion Scotland. Het was de eerste herdenking voor deze gebeurtenis die plaats had. De plaats van het herdenken was op Hyde Park Corner in Ploegsteert.
Today members of the Royal British Legion Scotland honour Field Marshal Douglas Haig, who toured around Scotland in 1921 and in 1922, to encourage veterans to add themselves into an association of honour. This association became the Royal Britsh Legion Scotland. It was the first time this event took place in Belgium. The place of remembrance took place at Hyde Park Corner in Ploegsteert.
